Circle of Care - Hospitality and Helps Ministry
The question may be asked, why care?
We are called to care, from the youngest to the oldest; each one of us has the opportunity and responsibility to care for someone else. Whether the outreach is smile and a hug from a small child or the preparation of a large meal for a grieving family, it is the genuine care behind the action that counts.
Scriptural principles provide the basis to focus on the needs of others rather than on our own needs. In the bible are many examples of individuals who were willing to share whatever they had. Two of these examples are the widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17) and the little boy who shared his lunch with the multitude (John 6: 1-14).
The admonition of Paul in Galatians 6:9, 10 speaks specifically to the issue: “and let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith. “
Healthy relationships foster an atmosphere of trust and lay the foundation from which true care can emerge. This is also the basis of a healthy, growing church. Therefore, it is important that every church develop a strong care ministry with evangelism being the emphasis.
KRB Ministries believes that churches must explore ways to create an environment of awareness that will provide care and support to those in need; physical, emotional, and spiritual. Even a seemingly small effort can mean the world to the hurting individuals. Something as simple as learning a name, making a call, or sending a card can bring comfort.
Heightening the awareness within the ministry can be the starting point for a church caring. By the natural development of safe, secure relationships and by an effort to educate individuals in how they can respond to needs that arise, a church can further advance the cause of care.
Part of the foundation is care within KRB Ministries
Our priority is to care for our families, the church, our community, the world, and ourselves, but we begin with taking care of individual lives. We need to make sure that each person’s relationship with Jesus is on a firm and solid foundation, that the individual’s prayer life and relationship with Him supersede everything else in life.
Relationship with Jesus must come before everything else - even ministry. If we are to be like Jesus in our compassion and care, we must know Jesus and know His heart for people. Out of that relationship will flow pure caring with pure motives and love.
The family unit is in one circle of care, the relationship that we have with those within the local church. Beyond the church, is the community, which includes work, school and civic groups.
Gathering the task force
People are the churches best resource. By tapping into the spiritual gifts, talents and experiences of those within the kingdom, there are few needs that will go unmet.
To fill the call care and develop Circles of care, the ministry identifies 2 things:
Step 1: Recognize the Need
Once the need for care has been recognized, this message is conveyed to the congregation.
Step 2: Locating Resources within the Church
Focuses in on tapping into the vital resources from within the congregation.
